S’up!

Filed under: My Life, Rhianna the reader, The writer — Administrator @ 11:28 pm

I just got my hair done and that always seems to perk me up. For a matter of hours, my hair is fixed in the style the hair stylist wants it to be. It is a great cut, she went a half shade darker on the brown (mardi gras) and then highlighted.

Last year about this time I decided I was starting to look my age and decided I would go from the dark blond that I had used for over a decade to something closer to my natural color. That would be predominantly gray, but also a mousy brown. It was a harder change on my coworkers than on me. I don’t look in the mirror very often and they had to see it constant.

I was given many opinions, some not so kind, but I persevered and stayed dark. This year I made up my mind that I would do more to pamper myself and having my hair color done by an expert is one of the greater luxuries in the female favorite things.

I got my galleys in for Shaking Off the Dust. That is exciting and sort of sad. I am reading it and man I like it. *grin*

I am writing steady every chance I get. I hope you all had a great week. I am posting at the Samhain blog on Saturday am and Shades of Suspense blog on Monday morning.   I read one book last week. I need it to rest my mind. It was Patricia Biggs, newest Wolf Cry. It’s not one of the Mercedes series (which I adore), but a spin off to that world. I liked the characters, but it wasn’t as engaging as the Mercedes books. She is a good writer though.

  1. Oh, it’s nice when you pamper yourself like that. I usually only get a cut at the hairdresser’s. I have bad hair and it’s hard to get a cut that I like, so I hate going.

I know much about this. And it’s usually when I spend mucho buckos to get the cut. One time it came out looking like Madonna’s in Desperately Seeking Susan. Ack! I kept walking around all day saying to the boyfriend at the time, who couldn’t stop laughing, “OMG, like, I’m totally a mall girl, like, get me some leg warmers quick!” This, at the age of 36. I couldn’t wait to get home and wash it and let it dry naturally. What are they thinking sometimes?

Biatches! Tell me who they were, I’ll kick their asses!:D Ok, maybe not, I did deny that I’m an alpha, didn’t I.

One of the “greater luxuries” for me over the years was getting a leg and bikini wax done by a pro. I used to do it myself most of the time, which was a PITA, but at least I had good wax from my Israeli friends who brought it from Israel. Now I don’t do any waxing; I go au natural and braid it all… just kidding…:)

My main form of pampering now is getting a massage every once in a while.

I think you could be an omega, but underneath, you are strong and not afraid to face the world. Look at all your traveling and enthusiastic exploration of all parts of life. So, I’m going to stick with Alpha.

Biatches! Tell me who they were, I’ll kick their asses!:

On thing about it is that an ER nurse will tell you exactly what they think…whether you ask or not. I believe my snappy response was – you’ll get used to it.

“OMG, like, I’m totally a mall girl, like, get me some leg warmers quick!”

One of my favorite songs is John Gorka’s I’m from New Jersey. (Love it) It cracks me up every time. I like a lot of his music, He is a great song writer.
